Why Take the Risk
Phoenix, Arizona -- Feb 07, 2011 / (http://www.myprgenie.com) -- Elements and their chemistry are the building blocks of all things. Some chemicals are naturally occurring and others are not. Drug companies spend millions of dollars to find the right chemical mix to alleviate ailments present in the human body. The trick being to fix the problem without creating more problems. I have a sister with multiple sclerosis. The best explanation I have received about how one contracts MS is that it is most likely a genetic disposition that is likely triggered by environmental factors. A reasonable hypothesis I guess but no one has been able to prove it.
Our bodies are exposed to so many harmful agents each day and it's difficult to pinpoint the root cause for many of the illnesses people contract. Chemicals, good and bad, are found in our food, our clothes and our homes. How do we truly know if these chemical are helping or hurting us? How do I know my spraying the yard with weed killer isn't affecting my health in some way. The likelihood those chemicals are coming in contact with my skin and lungs is pretty high. Free radicals are known to alter a cell to the point it becomes cancerous, so who's to say the fumes of some all new powerful cleaner isn't doing the same.
Even the innocuous household items such as soap, shampoo, deodorant and toothpaste all contain powerful chemicals and fragrances to differentiate themselves as the best. Clothing holds the residue of whatever detergent we choose to use and that residue is in constant contact with our skin. It takes months for infants to build their immune systems, yet their clothes expose them to dyes, fragrances and detergents that the body must learn to handle. Some infants are resilient but others develop hives and allergies. Bisphenal or (BPA) is a chemical commonly found in plastic to increase durability. This chemical can be found in bottles and studies show that BPA residue is transferred to food. The FDA says the amount of transfer is well within their safety parameters, but why take the chance. Websites such as the NaturalGreenStore.com carry BPA free baby bottles, bibs and toys. They also sell non-toxic, eco-friendly detergents and cleaners. I was always taught that when there are cliffs in the area, the safest place was to be nowhere near the cliffs. The safest scenario for our families is to avoid bringing harmful chemicals into our home and find the affordable alternatives that nature has provided us.

I had no idea that I am constantly exposing myself and my loved ones to such harmful chemicals.

I would recommend starting with your detergent. A great natural alternative is our Oxy Boost detergent http://www.naturalgreenstore.com/Product/Oxy-Boost-Oxygen-Bleach-P286.aspx. It contains no petrochemicals, phosphates, fragrances or dyes.

I have always wondered if it is ok to have some of the product organic and some that is not. 100% organic all the time is a bit difficult when the rest of the world is not. I have had a hard time finding online stores that carry great products that carry mostly organic products. Why does it seem that these products are more expensive?
