Spike TV's "Frankenfood" comes to Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA -- Feb 11, 2014 / (http://www.myprgenie.com) -- Tony Luke Jr. and Josh Capon come to Philadelphia to film Spike TV's first-ever food-related series, "Frankenfood", February 24 through 26.  The duo will film at area restaurants as part of their nationwide search for the best "Frankenfood". 

A "Frankenfood," is an unexpected product of two or more delicious but disparate food elements that when combined threatens to either deliver extreme culinary bliss or escape its creator's control and wreak widespread gastronomic destruction.            

Each episode of "Frankenfood" features local amateur food innovators competing head-to-head in order to get their unexpected food concoctions onto the menu of a popular local restaurant, win a $10,000 cash grand prize and possibly create the next big food craze.  Viewers will be taken back into the kitchen with these budding culinary artists to see how they whip up their inventive food combinations and find out the inspiration behind these dishes. It's up to Capon, series judge and Cheesesteak impresario Tony Luke Jr. along with a rotating panel of culinary experts serving as judges to decide which creative and often outlandish dish earns a spot on the menu.

Josh Capon is the seasoned executive chef and partner behind Lure Fishbar, B&B Winepub and El Toro Blanco in New York City. Capon is also a three-time champion of Rachael Ray's annual Burger Bash competition.

Tony Luke Jr. is an actor, musician, entertainer, restaurateur, Philly's favorite son and the face behind Tony Luke's.  Tony Luke's has over 20 stores nationally and in Bahrain. Tony Luke's has been praised by Gourmet magazine, The New York Times, GQ and is included in Philadelphia Magazine's "Best of Philly" Hall of Fame.
