This trailer for Confessionsofa Ex-Doofus-ItchyFooted Mutha is proof that Melvin Van Peebles raises the bar of storytelling through the medium of cinema to a whole new level. Once again, just as with his earlier cinematic milestone, Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song (1971), the silver screen will never be the same. Confessionsofa Ex-Doofus-ItchyFooted Mutha will receive its world debut on April 27, 2008, at the Tribeca Film Festival, where it has been chosen one of six "most-noted" films by Downtown Express, a New York City newspaper. Chosen as one of six "must see" features Confessionsofa... is a tale of adventure, but first and foremost, it is a love story, a funky picaresque comedy filled with wily ruminations of our pilgrim alternating with epic action-bites as the hero stumbles through life. The film is an oxymoron of emotions - boisterous, joyous and sublimely tender at one moment, then hilarious and street-wise the next. This is the latest film for Mr. Van Peebles (as director, writer and composer) since the release of Le Conte du ventre plein (also known as Bellyful) in 2000.
