The first thing that any one reads is the headline. It needs to have a lure to bring readers towards the release. The head line needs to have keywords in it, and it should offer a short summary to the readers. The first paragraph will start with name of city, state/country and the date. After the date line you will start the main body of the press release.
After the headline captures the attention for the reader the first paragraph need to build up the interest of the readers. In the first paragraph you will present answer to the five W (who, when, where, why and what), these answers will make the press release news worthy. People like to know what is happening in your business and what the latest achievements of your organization are.
The later paragraphs can give detailed explanation to the answers of the first paragraph. It is recommended to add quotes of the top management in these paragraphs. In the last paragraph you will mention the critical information. How to purchase your product, where can they get more information from, who to contact. At the end of the press release you will mention your contact information. And write ### to indicate the press release is finished.
I would like to emphasize here that the writing should be crisp, interesting and simple. Do not use many jargons, the readers man not understand them.
